I went with Ainslie to see this movie today. And it was fucking amazing awesomesauceballs.
Joss needs to write all the movies!!! Or at the very very least there needs to be a sequel and Joss HAS TO WRITE IT.
Why has there not been a Black Widow movie? I'm sure a lot of us would be all over it like white on rice and confession on Jesus.
Everyone was so good together. There was chemistry all over the place. Gay, straight, bi, incestuous and Hulk.
I'm in denial about Coulson's death. I refuse to believe that they can't or won't bring him back somehow.
Oh! I heard that Alexis Denisof was in the movie but I did not see him. Did I miss him or was that false rumour?
Uhm. Okay. I don't really have a lot to say.
Mostly I just want to flail and keysmash and make random noises.
If you've not seen it. You should.

Date: 2012-05-07 11:55 pm (UTC)If the rumours are true and there is going to be a Black Widow / Hawkeye movie, I hope to hell it's picked up.
Do you know if Wonder Woman is still on the shelf or has it been completely tossed?

Date: 2012-05-08 03:14 am (UTC)I wouldn't be surprised if they did go ahead with it. There were rumbles about a BW movie before The Avengers was released. They wanted to see how the film did and the character played with audiences before making a finale decision. Joss Whedon did a better version of BW than was in Iron Man II, from what I've heard from those who've seen it, so that helped it along greatly. But to pair up her and Hawkeye would serve both of them and probably make a great flick.
It's on the shelf yet again. Warner Brothers went for a small screen release after they parted ways with Whedon. I don't know if you heard about it, but David E Kelly made a pilot for NBC in hopes of being on its 2011/2012 fall schedule. The network passed (and given I've seen the unaired pilot, it doesn't surprise me - it was SHIT and this guy explains why well enough), so Wonder Woman's in limbo on television once more, too. It starred Adrienne Palicki as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. (You can see her in a promo shot of the revamped WW outfit here: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3336681472/tt1740828.) Some guy I've never heard of was Steve Trevor and he sucked, too.
As to the movie, I'd still like to see it done, but I really don't think Joss is the right fit for Wonder Woman. It terrified me, actually, when I read his interviews about what he wanted to do. Radically change her origins, costume and he said he thought her Rogues Gallery was lame, so he'd invent his own villain. Just to name a few. Joss knows Mavel comics exceptionally well, but he admitted to knowing less about DC and little of Wonder Woman. It's hard to deal with a character like her because she has a massive history spanning back to the 40s, she's changed a million times, but there are more recent comic runs where they could easily adapt that version to the screen for modern audiences. But until you get someone in the director's chair who loves Wonder Woman and knows her inside and out, it's just not going to be successful.
