I have a question or two about last night's episode.

A handful of you have said / pointed out that the diner scene was a homage to the Pulp Fiction diner scene.

I'm going to assume you mean the one with "Any of you fucking pricks move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of ya!"

And if that is the scene.

How did you make the connection? Because I did not see that at all. Not even a little inkling of a feeling that Pulp Fiction was the answer to "What movie/show are we ripping off right now?"

It's been along while since I've seen Pulp Fiction and I don't remember much.

So, what line or movement or look was it that led you to Pulp Fiction?

ETA: All right. I clearly missed something because the Pulp Fiction vs Slash Fiction gif that was pointed out to me, shows how obvious it was. I'm not sure if I turned my head, left the room or something else because yeah. Clearly missed the slap in the face.

Also, I saw a little bit of an interview where Jensen said that they would sometimes change lines and one of them was a recent thing that they wanted to "man-up"

Was that the scene with Sam walking away in a huff?

And if so, how was THAT "maned-up"?

For me, honestly, it was the moment one - can't recall who - goes, "So, are we ready to do this?" Prior to that, though, it reminded me of the the diner scene in Natural Born Killers. And subsequent massacre was reminiscent of Mickey and Mallory Knox, with the way they fucked with the victims on the video.

My head was not in the game. Though to be fair, it usually isn't. Because now that it's been pointed out how obvious it was and not just pointed out that it was, it was very clearly a slap in the face and yet. Whoosh right over my head. Sad.

I feel like that a lot of the time, too. I bet if I sat through it again, I could pick up more references I missed during the first viewing. I have to say, it bugged me when Frank called them the "psycho Butch and Sundance". Sure, they were criminals, but even throwing "psycho" in front of their names doesn't quite make sense. He'd have been more accurate to refer to them as Bonnie & Clyde, esp. with the violence and bank robbing. Then again, a lot of shit in this ep would've been different had I wrote it. Like ... it probably wouldn't have existed. Except maybe the Sam tells Dean to get the fuck out of his eyesight part.

Hahahahaa. That would've been a really short yet great episode. Would Sam have punched Dean before telling Dean to get the fuck out of his eyesight?
