Supernatural : 6x15 : The French Mistake
Feb. 25th, 2011 07:23 pmFirst of all it wasn't AS horrible as I thought it was going to be. However, I still thought it was stupid and I didn't like it.
And I am looking forward to (hopefully) iconning Genevieve. But man, I don't like that she actually changed her name.
Right then.
First their lives are a series of books and then it's a tv show and yet, there was no mention of the books. No, snarky comment about how tv shows based on books are never as good. No, it was like the books had never even existed.
I did laugh when they were 'acting' mostly because well, uh. Their "bad acting" wasn't - in my opinion - all that different from when they are being (over) dramatic in their normal acting.
I liked seeing Genevieve but I didn't care for her "character" ... and I really really hope that Jared and Genevieve's home isn't as douchey as that place was. But if they do have an alpaca in the backyard, that would be cool. Probably stole the idea from the Echolls.
Why did they not tell us why !Jared and !Jensen weren't talking?
I'm glad they got someone more attractive (sorta kinda) to play Clif.
Uhm. Hmm.
Oh! When !extra killed !Kripke that was kinda hot. I love when there's walking and guns being fired and no hesitation and yeah.
Misha was ... I don't even know. I guess he was the ... Hey, wait. How come !Misha knew what was going on (I mean, knew that he was an actor and such) but !Jared and !Jensen didn't? What did I miss that explained that part?
!Kripke and !Singer's reaction to !Misha's death was (and yeah, I'm going to use the "r" word - so if that offends you, please look away) retarded. If this was meant to be *their* real world and someone died? Would they REALLY have 'acted' like that? I don't think so. That bothered me a lot. Perhap's that's why I wasn't at all moved or bothered by their deaths.
I really really enjoy ... that guy. Whose character name or real name I can never remember. *looks it up* Sebastian Roché/Balthazar.
Mostly, I'm glad it's over and I hope to hell they never ever EVER do another episode like this again.

Date: 2011-02-26 06:06 am (UTC)Er...yeah. A couple of the fake "takes" that they did I was thinking the same thing. And then at the end, the scene with the angels? Felt like the same caliber.
I kinda felt more insulted than amused by the ridiculous pad "Jared" had in this episode. I just felt like saying "You know, we're not that stupid. We know these people aren't making that kind of money for a CW show. And even for a joke of exaggeration this was overkill."
Why did they not tell us why !Jared and !Jensen weren't talking? Between the griping "director" and Sam's "at least we mean stuff & are brothers here" commentary, I felt like the tone of the episode was very bitter. Like the writers were saying "fuck you guys, season 6 may suck but shouldn't you little ingrates just be happy that they're talking again?"
I think they've well and truly used up all of their "get a meta episode free" cards and just need to stop. Please. For cryin' out loud.

Date: 2011-02-26 06:04 pm (UTC)I think it was at the end that I felt this or near the end anyway there was a moment of 'Oh! This is their real acting and not !fake acting ... it's pretty much the same, I wonder if they know this?'
I felt like the tone of the episode was very bitter.
I didn't feel this at all but I'm so glad that you did, I mean in the sense that uh ... you weren't all 'Oh, it's rainbows and puppies!' Mostly when there are meta eps I just feel that they're all, 'We have no ideas left. Let's make fun of the thing that keeps us going.'
