A couple people on my flist, perhaps more on yours, posted a link to this article/interview thingy. I haven't read it because as folks were nice to point out it has spoilers. But this bit was snipped out to share with the rest of the class.

- someone asked a question about how he’d play the angel Michael if Dean ends up saying yes. Jensen said he’d take inspiration from the way Jared played Lucifer possessing Sam in “The End” – in fact, when actor Matt Cohen came to Jensen for advice on how to play young John possessed by Michael, Jensen actually took Matt to his trailer and played him the clip of Jared as Lucifer. “See?” he said to Matt, “Same guy, but different. You’re still his brother, but also this angelic otherworldly presence.” Jensen went on to say, “I was really impressed with Jared in “The End” as Lucifer, really proud of him.” He says that if he does ever get to play Michael, he’ll take Jared’s lead and try to copy how well he did it.

Like, really? Did he ACTUALLY LITERALLY say, "Same guy, but different." to Matt? I really fucking want to know what Matt's reaction was.

These are my guesses.

"Yeah, I'm an actor." / said like Jensen's a moron.
"Oh, wow. I thought Jared had a twin brother." / said sarcastically
"Damn, I thought it was a brother I didn't know about." / said sincerely because perhaps Matt's the worldest biggest tool
"Tell me about the rabbits, Lennie."  / more sarcasm.
"Get out of town and take the bus!" / okay, that one's just for me.

What are your guesses?

*I think Jared and Jensen are mediocre actors. Apparently Jensen thinks that Jared's pretty damn decent. But your opinion on Jared's acting may be different. / disclaimed

I agree they're both pretty mediocre actors. I would even go as far as to say they're pretty shitty actors most of the time sometimes, but even I was a little impressed by how Jared portrayed Lucifer.

I think they're mediocre, too. All these cries of "GIVE JENSEN AN EMMY" are just mindbogglingly ridiculous to me. But it's so hilariously adorable that Jensen wants to copy Jared's srs acting! I also liked his portrayal of Lucifer, mostly because like Jensen's wise words said... same guy, but different.

I have seen this all over my flist, and . . . yeah, I got no comment. Jared, I grant you, did a fairly good job as Lucifer, but when Sam says yesif Sam ever become Lucifer, I want to see a little more "kicking ass and busting heads open" then emo!boy. Just sayin'.

yeah, i dont really get ~blown away~ by their acting either. jared was alright as lucifer, but im not running to vote him in as my ~nUmber OnE~ actor. i thinkkk jensen has potential to be a really god actor, but it's too hard to let it show when all he does is supernatural and a few lame horrors. he needs a hurt locker type roll to prove it.

I'm honestly not sure about Jensen and his acting, IMO the best he's been so far (from what I've seen - which is most of his stuff except for Pacey's Pond) was Alec in Dark Angel. Perhaps he could be good if he had something good to work with. Maybe.

Regardless of talent (I think Jensen's a pretty damn fine actor when given the right material and pretty bad with the wrong material; Jared started out pretty horrible and moved up to relatively decent), I can't laugh at Jensen for being an idiot this time. I'm normally the first person to go, "HAHAHA YOU SUCK AT LIFE!" but I've said the same type of thing before. It's not easy to explain how you would do something to someone else. I'm an artist, when people say, "How do you do draw that?" "Like a stick figure, but not." lol.


For the record, I think Jared's Lucille (that's the pussy devil on this show, okay) was awful, Jensen Ackles. Stop kissing Jared's ass. He'll still let you blow him if you ask nicely.

When I started watching the show I thought that Jensen was the better actor and Jared was meh but improved but then awhile ago I went back and rewatched and realized that I was just being biased and thought they were both pretty mediocre.

Yeah, I'd really like to see them with good material. I think that I thought that Jared was all right on Gilmore Girls but I didn't watch that until after I started watching Supernatural and by then I was all biased. Though, I'm sure his acting has improved since then.

I haven't noticed overacting from Jared or maybe I have but I don't mind it because at least he's not overacting and using that fucking voice like Jensen does. Seriously, why does Jensen use that voice?

One day, I'm actually going to pay close attention to their mad acting skills. Maybe.

Well...I always thought Jensen was a good actor. Better than most on tv right now.
Though, instead of going after the "horror movie" typecast he should go after that "sure bet to an oscar nom" independent film :)
'Cause I love Jeremy Renner and all...but Best Actor nom???? I think Jensen can go the same route.
And as for his speaking? Who cares if he doesn't sound like an eloquent douchebag, half the time I walk around using 20 point words and all I get is flack. I've heard interviews of him where he sounds really smart and others not so much. LOL
