Supernatural : 6x12 : Like a Virgin

Some things I liked. Some things I did not like. And as often happens, references to Buffy.
Sam ate. That was my favourite part.
And I enjoyed Dean trying to pull the sword out. I imagine that the faces he made doing that are almost exactly like Jensen's sex faces. Mmhmm.
Oh, and I liked the woman who owned the sword. I can't remember her name.
I would have liked to have enjoyed (that sentence sounds awkward) the almost hug between Sam and Castiel. But alas, I cannot. Because IT'S CASTIEL'S FAULT THAT THEY ARE WHERE THEY ARE. Ugh.
I'm probably never going to let that go. It was a pretty big moment on the show n' all. And I don't like that it feels like the writers and other staff members have actually FORGOTTEN what happened.
:heavy sigh:
When Sam and Dean were talking at the end, it was good. It was believable and like when Katy Perry kissed a girl, I liked it.
But at the beginning after Sam woke up from his "too much pie" nap and it was all, 'Dean? Dean is that you?' 'Sammy. Sammy, is it really you?' Etc. Etc.
Their acting was SHIT. It was awkward and not believeable at all. I was not moved in any sort of way. Maybe it was the dialogue they had to say, maybe it was the directing either way, it was crap. And I did WANT to like it, I like when Sam and Dean hug and are all brotherly and loverly and such. But it was a bit like they had gotten acting lessons from Quinn and Clay.
And yes, I know I'm like one of five who thinks that both boys are mediocre actors or at least I'm one of a few who says it outloud. I feel that if Jared and Jensen were ugly more people would see this.
I like dragons, I like them a lot. But a) I'm not sure dragons belong on Supernatural and b) a human that morphs into a dragon? What the hell went wrong in Jake Long's life, ya'll? Do you think it was drugs? Over protective parents and he just wanted to rebel? It's so sad. :p
When they first said, 'Mother' my initial thought was 'OHMYGOD MOTHER BEZOAR!' But then she was more a poor man's The First.
Random: All the girls on this show look the same.
:shrugs: In general this show makes me stupid angry and yet I keep on watching. And often people say, 'Well, if you don't like it. Stop watching it.' Oh, if only it were that easy. There's a reason I keep on watching I'm sure of it. I know Jared and Jensen and their stupid faces have something to do with it but there has to be some other reason. I just need to figure out what that thing is.
Also, I use the words and, but and like way to much.

Date: 2011-02-07 03:05 am (UTC)I'm guessing you saw that I changed their name to Sarah.
So.
At work today I was wondering to myself if Jared still calls Genevieve Sarah.
"I'm going for my morning run, Sarah." He'd say in the mornings. And she'd sigh all frustrated. "It's Gen! Sarah's my sister." And he'd smile and say, "What about Jensen and your sister?" And things like this would go on for awhile until Genevieve was seriously considering changing her name to Sarah. But her sister would be all, "You can't change your name to Sarah, that'd be the stupidest." And Genevive would reply with, "I'll be Sara without an h and my last name is Padalecki now and so, it's not like it'd be the exact same." And that would continue until Gen's sister convinced her that it would not be a good idea to change her name.
Yep.

Date: 2011-02-05 08:18 pm (UTC)I'm agitated over that hug. On the one hand, I love how handsy Jared was (it was Jared and Jensen in that hug, seriously, there was no Sam-n-Dean about it), but I could have done without the abruptness of the whole thing. And the almost-hug with Castiel. I wanted that badly, don't know why, but I did.
Meh.
SAM ATE. I couldn't get over that. He said he was hungry and I said, aloud, "OH PLEASE GOD SHOW HIM EATING" and then they did. So that was good.
Honestly? I watch for Misha at this point, and the possibility that Jared will be naked.

Date: 2011-02-05 08:22 pm (UTC)I'm going to have to rewatch the hug scene with the sound off. I was to busy cringing at the bad acting to get into the actual hug part.
Sam eating was the best part. Seriously.

Ah yes, I remember this feeling. It happened to me around mid-season 4, when I came to loathe Castiel with the fire of a thousand suns. You'll get past it, I promise.

Date: 2011-02-05 09:52 pm (UTC)WOW, so happy I'm not watching this show anymore.
Yeah, I used to be all "gotta see it through to the end", but I decided not too. Now? I'm happier because of it. Go figure.
quit the show but i still LOVE sam

I will loathe Castiel for all time (hate the character, hate how depressingly he highlighted the GIGANTIC FLAMING HYPOCRISY of almost everyone in the fandom, hate the writers that haven't KILLED HIM OFF yet), etc, so I totally agree. TOTALLY AGREE.
And yes, I know I'm like one of five who thinks that both boys are mediocre actors or at least I'm one of a few who says it outloud. I feel that if Jared and Jensen were ugly more people would see this.
Agree again. I feel like the longer fandom in general, the huge FANDOM COLLECTIVE, is around, the more superficial it is, or at least, I'm am noticing how superficial fandom is more and more. It's seriously depressing :| and yes I know saying that makes me a hypocrite too :|
In general this show makes me stupid angry and yet I keep on watching. And often people say, 'Well, if you don't like it. Stop watching it.'
I despise it when fans do that. Fandom is supposed to be (imo because clearly in practice it is not) the place where EVERYONE can come and be HONEST about what they want from popular culture/culture in general and yet we still have people whining about someone "harshing their squee" or whatever asinine statement it is people use to SILENCE OTHER FANS. Obviously I take everything too seriously (another statement that I hate but whatever) but valid criticism of a frankly INCREASINGLY HORRIBLE show is just as valid as five thousand comments about how Jensen Is Seriously Too Pretty To Be Real.
TL;DR I watched briefly for the Sam and Dean hug.
Re: quit the show but i still LOVE sam
Date: 2011-02-05 09:46 pm (UTC)Pretty much this. He's fucking useless 98.9% of the time. I know when an episode is particularly bad when Castiel is my favourite part of the ep. I still would not like him but I would not HATE him quite as much if Show acknowledged all the dick things he has done.
I'm am noticing how superficial fandom is more and more
Honestly, I think I'm probably mostly watching for the pretty. But sometimes (often times) the other stuff is so bad, and so ridiculous that it over shadows the pretty and I'm forced to look at just how bad and ridiculous things are.
I despise it when fans do that.
It bothers me a lot too. I mean, I totally get if someone posts, 'I loved this ep. It was the greatest ever.' in their own journal and someone replies with, 'No. It sucked. Your dumb for thinking that it was good.' then I understand a person being upset but when people post, 'This is balls.' in their own journal. I don't see how or why that upsets those who are full of squee. I'm probably not making much sense right now and I'm going to continue not making sense. Yadda yadda yadda, I agree with what you said and because of all this that is why I have "I'll try and not harsh your squee if you don't squee my harsh" in my userinfo

YES FOREVER I AM FULL OF RAGE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT WHY HAS HE EVER BEEN ON MY TV SCREEN WHY DOES HE CONTINUE TO BE.
I still would not like him but I would not HATE him quite as much if Show acknowledged all the dick things he has done.
Lol the show will never do this because it would require Dean Winchester to have Flaws. Gasp! They would have to acknowledge that Dean was JUST AS WRONG to trust "Cas" as Sam was to trust Ruby...honestly even more wrong since Castiel has been around longer now. They would have to actually go back and address about five million plotlines they've dropped
because they only impacted Sam's character arc and nobody cares about him unless they're using him as an emotional prop for Dean's five millionth moment of manpain. ALSO some of Dean's biggest asshole moments occurred when he was interacting with Castiel, ESPECIALLY in S5, and I will never not hate that. Dean being more emotionally healthy, being more mature, being the "natural leader" that he is now that he's "freed" from the codependent crippling relationship he had with Sam who didn't appreciate him blah blah blah..I was left wondering SO OFTEN what version of S5 everyone else was watching (mostly I wish I never watched S5, lol). Dean is HORRIBLE without Sam. And vice versa but to hell with that disclaimer because they have no problem showing what a "monster" Sam is without Dean's influence. Yay for soulmates amirite (ngl I do like that they gave us that) :3Honestly, I think I'm probably mostly watching for the pretty.
Lol yeah I did too, stupid CW and their pretty actors but horrid, HORRID shows :/
But sometimes (often times) the other stuff is so bad, and so ridiculous that it over shadows the pretty and I'm forced to look at just how bad and ridiculous things are.
I know, it's like, I AM TRYING TO TURN OFF MY BRAIN AND *~NOT TAKE EVERYTHING SO SERIOUSLY~* BUT TV (AND THIS SHOW IN PARTICULAR) MAKE(S) IT SO HARD SO HARD
Yeah idk either.
I'm probably not making much sense right now and I'm going to continue not making sense.
I know what you mean, god this show >.< It was misogynistic in its FIRST SEASON and bringing that up seems kinda random but last night's episode, like, (because I stuck around for a little more than the hug SO STUPID OF ME) WHO KNEW that Supernatural could get MORE MISOGYNISTIC? Every season they both hit rock bottom AND get worse...wth do all the women involved with this show even think? I want to say "do they?" but HOW CAN YOU NOT NOTICE all the DEAD WOMEN/WHORES/PERFECT-WOMEN-WHO-ARE-STILL-DEAD and Lisa, who apparently had the best year of her life with Dean, wtf.

HAHAH I thought he looked slightly constipated. XD
I like dragons, I like them a lot. But a) I'm not sure dragons belong on Supernatural and b) a human that morphs into a dragon?
AGREED. That was mainly why I didn't like most of the episode. It was a stupid storyline and so far off from dealing with fucking LUCIFER and other monsters I was like... wut. Fairytales? LAME.
Random: All the girls on this show look the same.
ALSO AGREED. I thought the girl that was dropped into Purgatory was the same girl at the beginning. Was she? I don't even know LOL.
I want to figure out why I'm still watching SPN too...

Date: 2011-02-07 02:56 am (UTC)Okay, his constipated faces are like his sex faces.
I guess after dealing with Literal Lucifer nothing seems quite as scary so why not go for the ridiculous. Maybe that's their theory? Idea?
Well, apparently they weren't the same but really, who can tell? I mean besides some people.
If you ever figure out why you're still watching let me know, maybe I'll use it as my reason as well.

Date: 2011-02-07 05:47 am (UTC)Yeah I'm thinking they've just run out of ideas now and are starting to make shit up. [Well, they've BEEN making shit up since S4 imo.]
I will deffs let you know but don't hold your breath. ;)

Date: 2011-02-06 07:38 am (UTC)They've both had their moments, but I know not to hope for the day when one of them will be nominated for an Emmy award. Because that'll never happen. I've always felt that Jensen was better at emotional scenes than Jared, because Jared tends to overcry and scrunch his face, and I can't really connect with that. Some of their best acting was in Season 2, to be perfectly honest. I believed it a lot more. (Also, Season 4 was pretty good, in my opinion, though.)
SAM EATING WAS LIKE A MIRACLE. LOL
