I gots me a shiny new computer, uh yesterday. And now I have internet on it. Which is, you know a good thing.

Only, I forgot to save bookmarks and transfer them, I'm hoping I can still do that without internet on the other computer. And with new semagic installed ... I have no tags. Or, I guess there still there just not here and I'ma stop talking now.

But yeah. Point. Shiny shiny!

If you're using Firefox, you can definitely save your bookmarks & transfer them. Just go to Bookmarks --> Organize Bookmarks --> Import & Backup. I'm not sure if you use "Backup" or "Export HTML", but both save your bookmarks as a file that you can save to like, a flash drive and move to your new computer. Then on your new computer, just go to that Organize Bookmarks again and select Restore --> From File (if you used Backup) or Import HTML.

Congrats! I got a new computer like... 2 months ago so I still remember the feeling ;)

The thing you're talking about - that's one of the reasons I started using online bookmarks a while ago, so I don't suffer whenever something crashes or I have to switch to my laptop. Google bookmarks (private) or delicious bookmarks (public) + a good browser extension and you can access your stuff anywhere and anytime.

And there's Google Chrome - it keeps your bookmarks stored and synced between your browsers installed on different computers.

I realize this doesn't really fix your problem but maybe it can help you later? ;)

I just got a laptop myself and the bookmarks are definitely transferable without internet connection. I just did that.

As for Semagic.. click on the Update button next to the tags thing and you shall see the tags immediately.

And hee, my laptop is so shiny shiny, too. ^^ still can't believe I can now watch clips that previously played in slow motion or not at all on my PC. :D \o/
