I don't read a lot of meta when it comes to Supernatural or any show really because, wow, it's really wordy (most of the time). And who has the time for that? And thinky thought words at that too. Ouch. Plus, the few times when I do read it, it always seems to be about how Shiny and Perfect Dean Winchester is and booo to that shit. But then there are times when I wish I had the words and thinky thoughts to write meta and have people read it and say, 'Ahhh' in an Eddie Izzard type voice but I hardly ever do. Then again, I do love looking for the Buffy Quote that fits the scene. The homage to Buffy that was done and how Buffy did it so much better. Because I am a biased bitch.

I read some meta the other and it was All About Dean. There are spoilers for 5x01 under the cut but nothing beyond that.

I don't remember where the meta was and I don't remember much of what I read other than how it was about Dean being Angry and how was Right to be Angry. Which, okay. Maybe he's allowed to be a bit angry but I really fucking hope that we learn that a lot of his anger towards Sam is actually directed at himself. He is aware that he (Mr Pefect 'Pin a Gold Ribbon on His Chest' Wincester) helped start the apocolypse, right? Seriously, I'm asking. I have a vague memory of Zachariah? Some other angel? A demon? telling him that his breaking the seal down in hell was what got the ball rolling.

If Dean (and/or Castiel and/or Bobby) are just all on board with Blaming Sam and pointing fingers at him and shitting on him ... I'm going to be really fucking pissed.

My hope for this season is that Castiel plays along with Dean and Sam but secretly he's kind of evil. We learn that him (Castiel) and Ruby were lovers and they were both playing Sam and Dean. They both wanted Lucifer to rise and now that he's all risen Castiel's mission is to seek revenge (on Deaaaaaan mostly) for killing his girl.

*crosses fingers*

- please don't spoil me for any upcoming eps.

It bugs me that Dean "going to hell" is held over Sam's head. I don't believe Dean's actions were entirely selfless; he felt he'd failed Sam and this was his way of making amends, but not once did he factor in leaving Sam alone a year later, leaving him with this terrible burden of his "powers", not even considering what losing Dean would do to Sam. It's all about making Dean feel better about Dean and then, when Sam screws up, give Sam the biggest load of shit for it. And CONSTANTLY. Before? It would be forgotten over a beer. But now it's Dean throwing everything back in Sam's face when Dean is ALWAYS doing wrong and making mistakes. He's completely selfish in his actions, he doesn't want to own up to making his own mistakes and be judged for it, even though the breaking the seal thing? NOT ENTIRELY his fault, considering the circumstances and him being TORTURED.

The way I see it is Sam's never going to be on an equal playing field with Dean, not where certain people are concerned. Sam makes a friend in Ruby and is betrayed, and Sam comes out of it as the biggest douchebag ever. Dean makes a friend in Castiel who, in his own way, is deceitful and has a hand in turning Dean against Sam, and Dean and Castiel come out of it as BFF and neither can do wrong.

What I haven't seen, hand to God, is any of this kind of reaction for Sam from someone who is ultimately more of a Dean fan; all I've seen are the outcries from the Sam fans.

I didn't mean to vent. Again!
