It bugs me that Dean "going to hell" is held over Sam's head. I don't believe Dean's actions were entirely selfless; he felt he'd failed Sam and this was his way of making amends, but not once did he factor in leaving Sam alone a year later, leaving him with this terrible burden of his "powers", not even considering what losing Dean would do to Sam. It's all about making Dean feel better about Dean and then, when Sam screws up, give Sam the biggest load of shit for it. And CONSTANTLY. Before? It would be forgotten over a beer. But now it's Dean throwing everything back in Sam's face when Dean is ALWAYS doing wrong and making mistakes. He's completely selfish in his actions, he doesn't want to own up to making his own mistakes and be judged for it, even though the breaking the seal thing? NOT ENTIRELY his fault, considering the circumstances and him being TORTURED.

The way I see it is Sam's never going to be on an equal playing field with Dean, not where certain people are concerned. Sam makes a friend in Ruby and is betrayed, and Sam comes out of it as the biggest douchebag ever. Dean makes a friend in Castiel who, in his own way, is deceitful and has a hand in turning Dean against Sam, and Dean and Castiel come out of it as BFF and neither can do wrong.

What I haven't seen, hand to God, is any of this kind of reaction for Sam from someone who is ultimately more of a Dean fan; all I've seen are the outcries from the Sam fans.

I didn't mean to vent. Again!
