*Could Castiel have "gripped Dean tight and raised him from perdition" before Dean broke the first seal?
*Did Castiel know that Dean was down there? Was he aware of any plan?
*Did the other angels twiddle their thumbs and chant, 'C'mon, c'mon. Hurry up and break.' while they waited for Dean to break the first seal and then did they call Castiel over and say to him, 'Hey, there's this righteous guy down in Hell and he really shouldn't be there ... you know how paperwork is, would you mind going and getting him?" And Castiel so eager to please said, 'Golly. All right."  Then the angels all sniggered when he left, high-fived one another and said, 'This battle is going to be so epic.'

*What if Ruby had been an angel? A slightly naughty angel who was aware and in on The Plan but still. An angel.
*Would Dean still have disliked her as much? Or at all?
*Would Sam have trusted her like he did?

Didn't Castiel say the angels waged a war on hell when they realised what the demons intentions were? They just couldn't get there in time?

Castiel once said something along the lines of "When we found out Lilith's plans for you, we laid siege to hell". And Zachariah told Dean that they couldn't tell the "grunts on the ground" the plan or they'd have a revolt (in so many words). Castiel was a grunt. He was only doing what he'd been taught his whole life. And in the end he went against it all for the good of humanity and Dean. So I think he deserves some credit. Just my opinion.

Ruby had to be a "good" demon, because that way Sam could relate to her. He thought "hey, if this demon can be a good person, then there's hope for me after all". He wouldn't have bonded as readily with an angel.

And Dean doesn't trust the angels anyways, save for Cas. So I don't think her being a naughty angel would have changed much.

There's actually an Angel!Ruby in the role playing comm I frequent. I haven't really read any of her interactions with any of the Deans or Sams over there yet but it is a creative idea.

I'm assuming you've seen the episode but I wouldn't go into any of the new characters just in case.

New question for you: What if they hadn't accidentally busted John out of hell? How would that have affected the breaking of the seals? Or if John had broke instead of lasting 100 years? Because then I think Dean would've gotten a regular 10 yr contract instead, but the demons/angels needed him in hell.

Ruby kisses him first. She doesn't know what she wants to know more: if he tastes like Sam or if he tastes like Hell. All she can taste is bitter desperation and pain. It's ambrosia.

Dean doesn't kiss her back, at first. He just stands there and lets her, almost. But she reminds him of what he wants to forget about and it makes him want to peel her skin off. He's half afraid she'd enjoy it

Ruby fucks him and the entire time she hopes that Sam will walk in and see. Maybe then she'll finally get him to break and he'll come back to her. After all the effort and energy she's put into him, he backs off just because this twice done over meat-suit under her told him too? She twists a little and makes him gasp. Damn straight she's in control.

Interesting questions on the last three, there. Hard to answer, though, because if Ruby'd been an angel I'd imagine more than perceptions would change - Sam wouldn't have been sucking on demon blood for one. I do get the feeling Sam doesn't like the angels but he doesn't like most demons either. I don't think he species-categorizes as much as Dean does. I also think Dean wouldn't have had the kneejerk DNW reaction to her. On the other hand, Dean was naturally suspicious of the angels at first, because he's suspicious of, basically, everything, especially things that seem good (and his life: not doing anything to change that.)
And your vaguely jock!Angels made me laugh.

I was thinking that Sam would be sucking on angel blood. Like maybe the two of them would be making out and it'd get a little rough and he'd bite and there'd be blood and he'd lick at it and it'd get in to his system and from that he'd believe it made him more powerful and they'd both get off on it and that would be the way the whole blood lust would start.
