Supernatural 4x22 Lucifer Rising and what I want to see in S5

How much more awesome would it have been (for me) if instead of syphilis having hooker!Lilith it was Little Girl!Lilith and at some point she giggled and looked up at Sam with big 'innocent' eyes and said something like, "It kind of tickles, Sammy."? ... SO MUCH BETTER.

Ugh.

I've seen a few posts about how Sam's going to be Lucifer's meatsuit which could be interesting and neat. But I've been thinking that it could be fun if they turned S5 into a Reality Show. A mixture of The Contender mixed in with a little UFC.

Dean vs Lucifer. No holds barred. No frills. Hardly any rules.

Sam and Castiel would be Dean's support. His coaches ... his hope.
Zachariah and someone else would be over on Lucifer's side.

Lucifer would be played by Eddie Izzard just so that I could have this one moment happen.

[Lucifer throws a punch and Dean ducks out of the way]
Dean: [laughs] That all you got, *Lucy*?
Lucifer: My name. Is not. Lucy.

After a few episodes Dean would be giving up, he'd be down and beaten because he's giving it his all and Lucifer's barely trying.

Sam: Castiel, we have to do something. He's going to lose.
Castiel: We mustn't give up hope. This is Dean's destiny.
Sam: [sighs] I haven't given up hope but if Dean dies ...
Castiel: He won't.

[a little while later Sam takes Dean's water bottle and fills it with red gatorade and a couple drops of his own blood]

And then at the end of the season there's a press conference with Dean being accused of cheating.

Judge 1: You do know why you're here, yes?
Dean: Yeah. For the pie eating contest.
Judge 2: You won by cheating.
Dean: [huffs] I beat that son of a bitch fair and square.
Judge 1: You used demon blood.
Dean: I wouldn't touch that stuff.
[camera cuts to Sam who looks a teeny tiny bit guilty]
Dean: If there was demon blood in me it wasn't my choice to take it.
Judge 2: Just like all those sports players who didn't know they were taking steroids, right?
Dean: Screw you.

... then you know. Other hijinks would happen during the season. We'd see Sam and Dean working out together all half naked and sweaty. Castiel would help train Dean in how to avoid mystical whammies. Blah blah blah.

I'd have also liked to have seen at some point during the series this happen ...

[Sam and Ruby are in Ruby's car]
Sam: Are you ever going to let me drive?
Ruby: Hell, no. This is my baby.
Sam: Ha. You sound just like Dean.
[Ruby makes a 'Yeah, right.' face]

Dean: ...Hey, Sam?
Sam: Yeah?
Dean: You know that guy I shot? There was a person in there.
Sam: You didn’t have a choice, Dean.
Dean: Yeah, I know. That’s not what bothers me.
Sam: Then what does?
Dean: Killin’ that guy, killin’ Meg—I didn’t hesitate. I didn’t even flinch. For you or Dad, the things I’m willin’ to do or kill, it just ... it scares me sometimes.

* * * *
Sam: Yeah, you're right, I'm not. I don't have a choice.
Dean: What's that suppose to mean.
Sam: Look, Dean, you're leaving right? And I gotta stay here in this crap-hole of a world ... alone. So, the way I see it, if I'm gonna make it... if I'm gonna fight this war after you're gone then I gotta change.
Dean: Change into what?
Sam: Into you ... I gotta be more like you.

And yet these days Sam's drinking blood and killing people with demons in them and he should stop "because it's wrong" even if he believes (believed) that he didn't have any other choice. Even though he thought, he knew that killing Lilith was the only way to stop it. Hmm.

Those last two snippets of Show conversation? I never put it together like that, but you're right.

I can only figure Dean's tune changed when he went to Hell and became some demon's bitch-boy for awhile, and then broke down and basically opened the first seal.

I also found it interesting how often the boys kill demons in host bodies and never comment on it at all, but then there's these moments where suddenly it matters to them, and I wonder what makes one person matter more than another. Eh, sorry, rant.

I did find it fascinating that up till the last few episodes it didn't seem like Sam had done anything 'evil' with his powers, or done anything evil (other than drinking RUBY'S blood) to maintain them or make them stronger, but then in the homestretch he crossed a line, and I am very worried for Sam. I think he's started descending the slippery slope faster and faster on a sled by this point.

It will be interesting to see how much of a demon he is next season (and I personally hope not at all, or at least, not in an irreversible way).

Sorry for the ramble.

I don't think that he did cross any line. Not really. I think Ruby was right when she was pointing out that it wasn't any different when him and Dean killed them with the knife.
