What did you think of PS ILU?

From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
I liked it, I enjoyed it. But I don't think I liked it or enjoyed it as much as others did.

*hijacks*

Personally, I think I would have liked it a lot more if the lead part had been played by someone other than Hilary Swank. She just annoyed me too much.

There's my unsolicited opinion that I'm sure you were dying to hear.

I kind of like her - I think mostly because she was The Next Karate Kid and I enjoy movies where the girl kicks ass.

I attempted to do this last year. I believe I finished out the year with about 40 movies. It was not an impressive showing.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'm going to make it.

i think PS I Love You the book is a lot better than the movie, although the movie is cute. I recommend the book a lot more though. Jeffrey Deans character doesn't even exist in the book buahahahhaa although he was a nice addition. in the book they show more of the whole list concept and hilary swanks characters family and the guy at the bar. i can't remember his name right now but they have a really great friendship that i missed in the movie.

i'll stop talking now.

I didn't realize it was a book. I'll have to look for it sometime.

yeah i try to read the book before i see movies if i know their books first. my mom weirdly had that one. its a real easy read.

From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
I did. I think. I didn't hate it but it's possible I just liked it because I love Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins.

From: [identity profile] agt-league.livejournal.com
Mmm... Ryan is a hottie and Anthony is an amazing actor.

I've seen The Wrestler and having seen it, I really don't understand how it's been nominated for so many awards. Mickey Rourke wasn't that impressive. He wore extensions and spandex and played a guy who was washed up. He basically played himself in spandex and extensions lol.

HAY.

I loved The Wrestler!! Mickey Rourke is amazing. <3

*shuns you* LMAO.

I really didn't think it was that good. I love Darren Aronofsky and I think the film was great, but it was NOT as good as people are making it out to be. Marisa Tomei was nominated for an Oscar for being topless! Seriously, what the hell did she do but dance around with fake nipple rings. Nominate ME, I have REAL ones lmao. I could have easily replaced Mickey Rourke (which is basically "the comeback" vote, let's be real) or Brad Pitt with Leonardo DiCaprio in Revolutionary Road. They got undeserved nominations and he got the shaft. That's just my humble, movie-buff opinion, of course.

I still love you, even if you shun me. In honor of your icon, I suggest hugging it out?

LMAO, Marisa was HOT. Srsly. *_*

But yeah, I'm sick of Brad so I'm glad he wasn't nominated. *hides face* And I haven't seen Leo in RR yet so I can't judge.

THE COMEBACK VOTE IS ALWAYS AWESOME THOUGH. Everyone needs one of those, lol.

Aw, well I love you too. But still shunning.

AND YES, I APPROVE. *huuuuuugs*

Brad WAS nominated :( I think Benjamin Button was aMAZing, but he didn't deserve an Oscar nomination. I like a comeback just the same as the rest, but only if it's deserved. Mickey's been acting regularly for a while (I'd say his "comeback" was Once Upon A Time In Mexico). This is just his first film where he's a lead. I just wish he would be getting recognized for a film where he had to do heavy acting because he's actually a really GOOD actor. I just really don't think he put on a performance worthy of an Oscar, but Oscars are political. I'd recommend RR, but I think it kind of sucked. Leo and Kate were fabo though and the movie was beautiful. The story was just...eh.

Fine, shun me. I take back my hug. FUCK YOU, JANICE.

Ugh, no no no. D:

Oh, I don't remember Mickey in that. I only remember him in Sin City and I freaking LOVED that movie.

Oscars are lame tbh. Don't old geezers decide who gets nominated and what not anyway? *shrugs*

I watched the trailer of RR and wasn't too impressed and I'm not into romance/drama's much anyways so eh. I'll wait for the DVD, rofl.

You can't take it back. I ALREADY HUGGED THE SHIT OUT OF IT SO HAH!

*points to icon* >:(

Yeah, he was great in Sin City. In fact, his fucked up face actually worked in his favor in Sin City. Same as The Wrestler. It's such a shame he looks like that because he was so good looking - but drugs, boxing, car wrecks, and plastic surgery do not a pretty man man. Anyone who is a member of the Academy nominates and votes. All you have to do is pay a membership fee. Generally, it is the "Hollywood" community, but any regular person can nominate and vote.

Yeah, don't spend your money. I just downloaded it lol. It was worth the download for the cinematography and acting and costuming. However, the story made me want to punch Leo AND Kate in their faces the entire movie, so needless to say, not worth even renting lol.

I did take it back. I am the one who gave it out, I can take it back. Your momma never said that to you, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!" Well, I'm taking it out. We are hugging nothing out, bitch. I'm shoving your ass into oncoming traffic for calling me a vagina. I HAVE a vagina, I am NOT a vagina, hmph.

Heh. I thought it was quite good and I think that if I were a fan of wrestling I would've enjoyed it more.

I really enjoyed the movie, ending and all (and a lot of people hated that), I just feel like there were better movies and more deserving actors getting all the accolades, you know? But, then again, people want to see Mickey succeed - and he should, because he's talented. I just don't get the rest. Marisa Tomei? Boobies shouldn't win Oscars lol.

Date: 2009-01-25 08:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
Yeah, Marissa shouldn't have been nominated.

Do movies you've seen before count? Or is it only ones you're seeing for the first time?

Date: 2009-01-26 07:12 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
I'm actually not sure of that, but I think I'm probably going to end up possibly cheating and including movies I've seen before if I happen to rewatch them

Date: 2009-01-26 07:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tastylilgifty.livejournal.com
Ah. Good then. If I'm not the only one doing it, then it's not really cheating. Those are the rules that I've just made up. ;)

How was Rachel Getting Married?

I mentioned it in a recent entry. This is what I said there.

Rachel Getting Married ... oh, wow. It was good and I liked the style in which it was filmed but holy geezus it hit my embarrassment squick hard and often.

How was Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist?

From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
Yeah, it was okay and then there was one part that was (imo) fucking disgusting and I never ever want to see it again though sometimes my brain is all, 'Hey, remember THIS!' and then shows me the image.

I mention it in this (http://smidgy06.livejournal.com/1457288.html) post

What was even grosser about it was that Norah later put it in her mouth. Bleh. So gross.
