I applied to one of those elite icon communities. Didn't get in, which is kind of what I was expecting but this amused me -

[paraphrased]

Person A: Your cropping is nice, I especially like it on This Particular Icon.

Person B: Your cropping is quite crap, especially on these icons including This Particular Icon.

It confuses me a lot too how exactly they judge. Not at that particular comm but at others I enjoy looking at the applications and guessing if they'll get in or not, but it turns out that a lot of the ones I'd have let in if I ran the place are rejected and the ones that get in I would've said, 'please try again.'

I do like the idea of maintaining quality because shit is produced afterward but I wouldn't actually want to see it happen because I'd totally be kicked out of the places that have already let me in. :)
