I applied to one of those elite icon communities. Didn't get in, which is kind of what I was expecting but this amused me -

[paraphrased]

Person A: Your cropping is nice, I especially like it on This Particular Icon.

Person B: Your cropping is quite crap, especially on these icons including This Particular Icon.

I really enjoy reading comments over at communities like that.

"You need to use textures. Start using them!"

"Uhm, you're using textures ... you might want to back off of that."

"Try different fonts."

"Your fonts are all over the place, it's crazy and out of control."

I dunno. I don't make batches of icons and I don't use other peoples icons, so I'm not sure why I get my back up about it, but it never really settles right with me. *shrug*
