Do you know what your name would have been had you been born the opposite sex? Mine was going to be Christopher Michael.

What about what you were almost named? I was almost Crystal. I'm really glad my mom changed her mind on that one. And then at one point she was going to name me Jericho (as a girl) ... at least I'm fairly sure it was that name. That might've been kinda cool.

If I had been a boy, my parents were thinking about Carl. I would have felt sorry for myself my whole life. Another name they were thinking about for me was Rachel, and Colleen instead of Ann for my middle name.

I believe I was always going to be Melanie Rose if I was girl (which I am, lol) - Melanie supposedly after my Dad's fave pop singer (I was born into this fandom business! lol) and Rose after my gran. If I'd been a boy, I coulda been called Benjiman, or Levi ... Ben's ok, but Levi makes me giggle uncontrollably.

My mom says that she always knew from the very beginning that I was going to be a girl so she never thought about what she and my dad would name me if I had been born a boy.

I was almost named Jessica, though. But then they chose Laura. (Which I saw in another comment in this post almost happened to someone else. Which is a bit strange....)

i was, apparently, SUPPOSED to be a boy (WHOOPS!) and was going to be named paul robert (dad is robert paul)...but lo and behold...i came out sans penis (unless they snipped the wrong cord...um) and thank god mom and dad had a back up name

I kind of like the name Geraldine but the only problem with a name like that and also with Jericho, is that people would shorten it to Gerry/Jerry and I would not care for that.
