I already have over 1000 tags. Like, a LOT over. bitter_crimson said that I had 2068.

I've since deleted a handful, and am continuing to delete more but I don't know that I'll be able to get under 1000 and I NEED MOAR tags.

So, I'm going through entries and deleting and changing tags and what not and just now I see this "I keep having random Sam Winchester/Britney Spears thoughts." What? Why? How come I don't remember these thoughts? Were they full on !crack or ... other?

I can totally imagine the programmers putting together the tag code, and sitting around going "hey, we need to have some sort of limit as a parameter" and someone going "god, make it 1000 and lets go to lunch" because NOBODY ever thought ANYONE would ever need anything near that amount.

It's only by very hard work (and a much smaller IQ/lack of an eidetic memory) that I don't sound off like Reid ALL the time.)

I would suggest you start things like combining your duplicate/typo/semi-redundant tags (yes, I know part of the fun is having semi-redundant tags – but two THOUSAND of them?)

For instance:

explanation point vs. no explanation point
(!crack and crack
ack and ack!
boys and boys!
etc)

typos:
(amber bensen/benson
grey’s/greys’ anatomy
etc)

To "s" or not to "s"?:
(commercial(s)
icon(s)
picture(s)
pretty boy(s) (Clearly, you have something of a theme!)
etc)

Oh, weird. I didn't know that LJ had implemented a 1000 tag limit, either. (Well, haha, I probably didn't know 'cause I'm still pretty far away from that, heh.) That seems completely unnecessary. I mean, c'mon, all the extra data they've gotta store for a tag is like, a short string of characters and then the entries it links to. Neither of these is a LARGE amount of data, even if you had, like, 10,000 tags or something. LAME, LJ, LAME.
