TV Guide: Would you like to parlay all of that into one of those big-budget sci-fi/comic-book movies?
Ackles: I'm not against it by any means. Comedy, drama, Westerns, sci-fi... it's all fine if the story's compelling and the character is interesting to me. I do like action a lot. The other night there was a big stunt and they brought in my stunt double. When I saw what the stunt was, I was like, "No, no, no. I'm doing this." They'll usually let me do it, unless it's big stuff like a wire-jump off a building — that could be a catastrophe. But [costar] Jared [Padalecki] and I would much rather have a day of action and stunts than a day of the two brothers sitting in a motel room pouring their hearts out. [Laughs]

TV Guide: You realize you have a lot of female viewers because of that emotional stuff, right?
Ackles: This is true. "It's a necessary evil," we like to say.

Too true. BUT...I'm definitely all about the brother-bonding motel room scenes, too. Because it sets my girly bits on fire. Maybe if Dean could just cry into Sam's crotch it would be better?

I see this position popping up on lj a lot lately but holy crap not me. I would be content if the entire show consisted of drab lighting, a motel room, and tense dialogue. I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

This is where I differ greatly from fans. I, uh, don't want Dean happy. The only thing that makes Dean happy is Sam and I don't know if Sam could be completely content just on the road hunting with his brother. I do however think that he would choose to stay with Dean and do just that. But Dean would always sense the duty in Sam and thus would never really accept it. I either want the show to end really ambiguously--just the boys riding off to the next job--or I want them to die saving the world. But no giving up the job, no settling down and starting a family. And I want Dean to cry at least two more times this season.

No no no, you're wrong. You're a woman, so naturally you're only interested in the fluffy emotional stuff. None of the disgusting violence or the scary ghost stories. That stuff is only there for the male viewers. You're only watching for Dean's tears, because as a woman you can't possibly be interested in anything other than emotions and the boys sharing their feelings and talking about their relationship. That's the only reason you're watching.

I don't mind those scenes but I like the violence. I'd be happier if there was more fisticuff fighting rather than guns involved.

I'm not real fussy on horny happy Dean but just content Dean? I like that guy. And I do want him to cry some this season - heck I'm surprised he hasn't already, but overall I'm a bit 'Ooh, Dean's crying again? Must be Thursday.'

Can I be tired of something and still want it? Hmm.

They might as well just get rid of the whole supernatural thing altogether, since the only reason we females are watching is to see the brothers pouring theri hearts out to each other.

(which I do like, but if all I wanted in my TV show were angsty characters having long emotional discussions, I'd turn my attention to soap operas - though *cough* I have been getting into As The World Turns recently. I blame the adorable gay boy storyline).

Mostly I just want them both to bleed more often because in the last episode when Sam was all bloody? Nnnnngggghhhh that was hot. Really hot. And though I cant think of a specific instance at the moment, I know Dean is hot covered in blood too.

And then yes. There can be kissing and patching up and hand grabbiness (it's a word!) and all that stuff.

I'm blanking on the name but the ep with Amber Benson. After Dean kills the vamp there's a little bit of blood on his face and then the camera goes to Sam looking all o.O and then back to Dean who now has blood DRIPPING DOWN HIS FACE. God, kills me everytime. Kills in both a "Hahahahaahahaha" and a "Nnnng" type way.
