I hate to say it but the in-episode Sam inconsistency just makes me think of how this whole season it's really felt like some days Jared "showed up to work" and some days...not so much.
I think what bothers me the most (and always has) about the Lisa thing is that while there's plenty of stuff this series has dedicated way too much time to, they've also not really bothered putting any effort into making Lisa important/memorable/integral to the plot/someone the audience should care about. I mean, I don't really hate her character or anything but the problem is I don't really give two shits about her, either. She's just kinda shoehorned in there.
But man, you are right. Some of that Sam-as-Lucifer stuff was just...unf.
