At a Con (couldn't for the life of me remember which) he mentioned how he'd tried to convey compassionate, because Lucifer was like the ultimate snake-oil salesman, and that somehow meant he truly believed he was being kind or whatever? So yeah, after hearing him, I thought to myself "Ok honey, you need to call your acting coach back"
I still love them, though. But yeah, it would've been a million times more awesome if he was just being a douche and mocking Dean with his fake-compassion.
