I have one--I asked for it for Xmas because I am a child. ;-)
I got it because I had games on my phone but then my phone went and reset itself and dumped all my games.
I would suggest that you do your research on any games you're interested in before buying them (see: http://www.gamespot.com/ds/index.html). And then I would suggest buying them used at GameStop. But make sure you check the little thingies on the back to make sure they're clean and the plastic ridges are in good shape (said from experience). Also, if you do get one and you go to GameSTop, pay the $10 and get the discount/membership card--it's totally worth it...of course I have a Wii too, so...
I've noticed that after thirty minutes or so of playing a game that requires the stylus my elbow starts to ache and my tendinitis kicks in. Oi repetitive motion.
I have the following games: Scrabble Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Brain Age 1 Kingdom Hearts Battleship/Connect Four/Sorry/Trouble SimCity Creator
I'm currently in the middle of Zelda, which I really like. I played all of PLDB--it's basically a bunch of little puzzles connected by a story. SimCity Creator is old-school, but fun - though not very visually interesting. Brain Age is interesting, but for some reason the game won't recongize my voice (one I bought used), so there's a few of the puzzles that don't work for me.
The only other people I know with one are my nephews and they don't play the same games I do, so the connect-ability between gadgets doesn't really do me much good. Though I haven't really thought to go online as yet...
