Your theory? Dead on. If something like that shocked me as much as that did? It wasn't a logical progression of story. As much as I loved those two episodes, everything felt so rushed and slap-dashed together. And the results were like a comedy of errors. Except not that funny.

SPN Writers: "Shit, what do we do now? Postpone our original plan of Sam getting Dean out of the deal? No, fuck that. ENJOY HELL, DEAN! HAHAHAHAHA!" Later ... "We got renewed? Shit, how do we get Dean out of Hell? Angels? GENIUS."
Logic and Reason: "Um, guys, how are you going to explain why angels would want to get Dean out of Hell?"
SPN Writers: "Two words: CANON. RETCON."
Marvel Comics: "That's not a good idea. Take it from us. WE KNOW ABOUT THIS SHIT."
SPN Writers: "We're smarter and cleverer and our fans will swallow any bullshit we slap down on a plate in front of them! They'll lap it up and beg us, 'Please, sir, may I have some more?' And we don't have Jeph Loeb on staff, either."
Marvel: "Don't say we didn't warn you."
