- Has anyone ever filled up their photobucket account? Like totally and completely "no more pictures allowed full stop" filled it? And if you have how many pictures were in it?

- If ever there comes a day when VCR's are completely and totally extinct and the one I have stops working, I'm going to cry a river or two. Probably an ocean, really. No joke.

- What's your biggest phobia?
Chace Crawford: spiders and uncooked chicken.

...

There's no before picture so you can't see how much better it looks.  But it used to be all full and slightly unorganized, but I moved stuff to another place and rearranged here and there and \o/. But now I need more dvds. Lots more. Or maybe books. I guess maybe books belong in a bookcase. *shrugs*

it's not out of focus in real life.
I do have another bookcase that has more books. *nods*

Haha. I think you should go with the mooooooooore option, you could have an entire wall just lined up with DVDs.

It was very awesome. I felt bad for letting her do all the work though so after an hour of sleeping on my desk, I helped out a little. Then after 1 1/2 hours I went to lunch and when I got back there was no more work to do. So we talked and blasted music and she decided to decorate some granny-panties with glitter glue for a friend's birthday. All in all, this was one of the better days I've had at work.

If I could afford to get moooooore, I would. Like three times over. I'm not really sure what that means, but yeah.

That sounds like a nice day. Really really nice. I want a day like that. I mean, not that my job is hard or anything just yeah.

No no, if you could afford that, you'd come to Denmark and visit me. You'd have no choice.

It was nice. Got a little bored after a while where I just watched youtube videos but hey, I can most certainly live with being a little bored, it's better than being stressed.
Are the kids back?

Maybe I could buy enough dvds to build a bridge to Denmark. :p Man, that'd be a lot of dvds. Perhaps too many, really.

Yeah, they've been back for awhile now.

No no. Build it from Canada to Greenland and then continue it from Greenland to Denmark. That's just the right amount.

Do you know if you'll be taking care of them next year yet? Or, after the summer holidays which I guess is in about a week (it is here anyway)

Really? That wouldn't make it even longer?

I haven't heard either way (and school starts like Sept 7th or something like that) but yeah. I dunno, they're both still going to the same school so I think I will be but then the year after that they'll be going to different schools, or well she'll be going to middle school and he'll still be at elementary school so maybe then, I'll be shit outta luck? Who knows.

Um... I don't think so. And if I remember correctly, once upon a time you could walk across the Davis Strait (this might've been in one of the ice ages) so we could totally do that and save DVDs there. It's not too far from Greenland to DK, and since Greenland is technically part of Denmark, you could say that you'd kind of already be there. Something like that.

Hopefully you'll have another year before you have to start thinking about it... How old do you have to be to go to middle school?

I was never big on VHS but my family has a huge collection of Disney films on VHS.

My DVDs and Books are just a mess, I keep saying to myself that I should organized them but I'm way to lazy.

Wow, gosh. *knows little to nothing about geography*

Middle school is grade's 5-8. I think or something like that so age 11-12, depending on when the birthday is. Maybe?

Don't worry, I suck at geography but I somehow seemed to remember this bit.

Cool. This is proving to be a very educational conversation.

Me neither. Let's change the topic.

NPH IS MADE OF SHINY WIN! I sort of remember his appearance on Conan in February but then someone uploaded it on I<3TV and I re-watched and wow. I heart him.

OH. She seems to look different in every pic I see of her. I haven't actually seen any TV or movies she's been in.

Ooh, maybe they do. I should ask...

This is totally a late response on my part. Lalala....

Anyway, it's really not hard at all. And on mine you can make it as fancy or as plain as you like. Like, for example, back when I was using it to record Arrested Development off the TV I made fancy matching orange menus and such. I think you can put music on the menu screen too, but I never did that. But yeah, if you don't do the fancy stuff it's really pretty easy to transfer the tapes, just tedious because unless you're taping entire tapes and don't care if it's just all random stuff, you have to spend the time going through said tapes to figure out what's on it and what you want to keep or not keep or put on a different disc. Then it takes a long time because it will only record exactly what's playing. So say you wanted to transfer an entire season of BtVS onto DVD from a tape...you would have to play every single episode while it was recording. And if you wanted to not have commercials playing during the show, you'd need to sit there and pause the recording and then restart it. Even if you pushed record and walked away, you can only record so much in a certain amount of time anyway. So like a 22 episode season would still take 22 hours that you couldn't record other stuff during. What part of my problem is, like I said, is the commercial thing. Because I don't want them to interrupt my shows, so I want to pause the shows during the recording to avoid them, BUT I want to go back later and record all the good commercials on all my tapes onto its own disc. At one point I had gotten a lot of my Seth Green stuff transferred and all of my Caroline in the City episodes (which wasn't a ton of them) as well as the I Will Remember You episode of Angel. But I think that's it.

I paid about $100 like a year and a half ago (It came down to my VHS tapes getting just too overwhelming though and I needed to condense them down.). I can't for the life of me remember where I got it. I had gotten one prior to it for like $88 at Target made by Trutech. That one was a piece of garbage though and would never reliably record and would freeze up and stuff. It sucked, so I returned it for a full refund. This one I have now is Magnavox and also functions as just a DVD player and I've had no problems with it. It's also pretty cool because it uses the same DVDs that you'd use in a computer's DVD burner. I'm sure that the ones that are made now cost even less and are much better. A year and a half ago the technology wasn't brand new, but still not quite as common as it is now.

I'm glad I have it though, since my VCR died about a week ago and now I'll be less tempted to use tapes instead for recording shows on TV this fall.

Actually, now that I think about it...the better indicator of when I got it would be shortly before the 8th episode of Arrested Development during its final season. Because that was one of the first things I tried it out on recording. :-) So I think it was more than a year and a half ago.

Oooh. *seriously looks into this sometime*

Cos, I think I'd just like record anything and everything so yeah.

It helps that I got a package of like 100 blank DVDs for $3.99 on Black Friday a few years ago. So I feel even less bad about the idea of recording crap on them. Haha. But I think if you can get economy packs of recordable DVDs ($3.99 for 100 is incredibly rare, but I'm sure at Walmart you can get quite a few for a reasonable cost) it's generally a pretty good deal and saves SO MUCH MORE SPACE. That alone is worth it. The blank tapes were taking up so much waiting to be used.

From: [identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com
Yeah, that's my problem with the tapes is the space they take up and also the fear that one day they won't work but yeah.

ps. did you get my other (private) message from awhile back?
