And I run a fic community with limited membership. *shrugs* It's vaguely hypocritical. Though in my defence, it's a fic challenge, and only those who signed up for the challenge are members but it irks me a little.

Oh god, those comms suck ass. Especially when the mods and their chosen "elite" commit identical crimes to the ones that get people rejected. I just don't get that. How can you say, "your colourisation needs work" when one of your members is using those colours too?

I once suggested that an elite comm should be one where all members were required to maintain a certain level of quality or they could be booted out. But apparently you only need quality to get in. Producing shit afterwards is 100% acceptable (and it happens a lot)!

It confuses me a lot too how exactly they judge. Not at that particular comm but at others I enjoy looking at the applications and guessing if they'll get in or not, but it turns out that a lot of the ones I'd have let in if I ran the place are rejected and the ones that get in I would've said, 'please try again.'

I do like the idea of maintaining quality because shit is produced afterward but I wouldn't actually want to see it happen because I'd totally be kicked out of the places that have already let me in. :)

ahahha but it just proves that an icon is like a freakin'..erm.. poem (or you know.. some form of art? in a way.. it is.). 10 out of 10 ppl will have different opinions about it, some of them will like it some won't, and others won't be phased about it at all. btw your cropping was always one of the best things I liked about your icons, so I def side with person A.
