Especially, as you said, since there are far more outrageous things than that in fandom.

Well, one person in alazysod's journal is now arguing that anything you write in fic is cool, but anything bad you say about an actor in a journal or on a messageboard is not cool. Which is some awesome logic. So RESPECT!!! and "live and let live" only applies to fanfic, I guess.
