--Uhm. What? He grew up in a southern state. She grew up in a southern state. And uh, that's their connection? That's the thing he chooses to say is what they have in common? I'm afraid I'm not feeling the love.

Also, with his "similar home" bit, isn't that how he describes his and Jared's relationship? Only when it's about Jared he doesn't (IMO) come off sounding like a jerk.

In conclusion.

Jensen wants to date Jared. But we already knew that.

I kind of saw it as a compliment - he seems to have a lot of respect for people who keep to themselves, aren't out in front of the paparazzi every day. Especially considering he follow its up with "she's good people", like those two statements are related.

And uhm, that's their connection?

Coming from a southern state myself, I can relate. It's really easy to connect with people from similar backgrounds, similar families. But YMMV. I've, er, probably said the same thing about multiple guys I've dated. Even referred to more than one as "good people" based on the fact that they grew up near me (and that they were good people - real southern boys can be so sweet, and that's steroetyping, but I love them, I really do). :P

But Jensen totally wants to date Jared. Who wouldn't?

A "rider", if you will: Jensen obviously isn't comfortable talking about his love life, which is why part of it came off awkward, and why this is really the first thing he's ever said publicly about her. I love that he keeps things close to the chest, love that he's found somebody who is just as interested in that as he is. Only way a relationship can last in Hollywood, right?

It's funny, though, 'cause Jared manages to be so open about his relationship, without actually giving much away or crossing over into that area where he's flaunting it. And that's just a mark of how open Jared is as a person, in comparison to Jensen.

Hmm, okay I see your point but I still feel it came across as a bit jerkish. I know there's a good chance that I'm reading it wrong but still. Maybe he could've said, "She's also on a show on the CW" or something other than "not known" I think anyway.

And sure about the whole southern state connection thing but again, he could've added to it a little? "We both love roller coaster rides and eating too much cotton candy." "We're both in a fantasy football pool." Something.

Sometimes I really DO wish he'd be more open about things. He does have a tendency to come off very closed-off and impersonal but as much as it can be frustrating, I can't hate him for it, not at all. SIGH. Oh, Jensen.

I seem to remembering something over the summer, someone spoke to her and found out she wouldn't be back next season, that she'd been written out? Perhaps when she was at Jensen's show in Texas? Hmmm. PURELY speculation, though, 'cause who knows if the source was legit. I'm really not familiar with One Tree Hill, but I know they don't get a whole lot of spoilers - which would have been the first place I looked. :P Haven't spotted a single mention of her or her character in anything I have seen, but that doesn't mean anything. Not necessarily. Huh.

As someone who's kept up with him since those early "Days" days, I will say that he's opened up MUCH more ever since meeting Jared. So that's something. It used to be like, crickets.

Yeah, I've only known who Jensen is since March 2006 (I watched him on Smallville, but didn't care for his character, and I started watching Supernatural in March '06) , so everything I've seen of him is, well, all together at once. :P

It is interesting to me, though, to read stuff about Jensen hiding in dressing rooms at Days conventions, compared to how he is now. He's definitely opened up drastically over the last two years and that is SO DEFINITELY attributed to Jared.

I'm reminded of that fan report (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3132514&st=7455&p=6410707&#entry6410707) from Paley, about how Jensen was freaking out, then so damn RELIEVED when he found Jared. (I don't necessarily like the source, 'cause he's kind of pompous, but I trust him not to exaggerate, so I completely believe this.)
