pb&j. jensen's bed

I don't know how many of you read or remember anything about the Babysitter's Club books but one or two of the kids (I think it might've been one of the Pikes) liked grilled peanut butter and jam sandwiches. I thought that sounded kind of good and so many long years ago I tried one and it was freakin' delicious and so many years later, I'm still eating them. But today on the outside with the butter margarine I added some cinnamon and sugar and homygod SO GOOD.

* * *

I've decided that the foot of Jensen's bed is wooden and carved into the shape of a large cowboy boot and the headboard (also wooden- obviously) is shaped like one of those half circle signs you see on farms and such and carved into is 'Jensen's Dude Ranch'

Mmmhmm.

OMG I LOVE YA!!
I've got 26 BSC books (in Dutch though coz the American versions were too expensive to import) and OMG the other week one of the movies was on again!!
Stupid thing though is is that they changed names and places. Like Stacey is Petra in Dutch and she was from Amsterdam instead of NYC and stuff like that....

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've seen any of the movies but I loved loved loved the books.

And they shouldn't be allowed to change details like that.

[identity profile] heatherosa.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
I used to have some of the episodes ("movies") on tape. Oh my GOD they were terrible. I mean, the acting was just so very bad. I think even as a preteen my main reason for watching them was to mock profusely. I may have gotten rid of them though, which is a shame because I'd just love to make fun of them now. One that was especially bad was "Maryanne and the Brunettes"...you should try looking on YouTube. I'm sure they're there somewhere. It was originally a series that was on HBO, I believe and then they released them onto VHS.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I should try that!

[identity profile] delicatelight.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you grill them? Like, do you put butter on the bread like you do with grilled cheese?

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly like grilled cheese, though I guess for me it's more frying them in a pan and not on a grill ... does anyone actually grill them? I dunno.

[identity profile] apey1013.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
'Jensen's Dude Ranch' Thank you for making me giggle.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
You are welcome

[identity profile] winterweathered.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe this to be true, but only if it is also true that Jared purchased the bed.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that he would have

[identity profile] clubinthesky.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
\0/ I like peanut butter and jam sandwiches but... never grilled! Should I try it?

Jensen's dude ranch? ahahaha WICKED. (Does he invite Jared over to play Cowboy sometimes?)

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, you should try it. They're so good.

Of course he does.

[identity profile] katysam.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! The Babystitter's Club books rocked! I haven't thought about them in the longest time. Just so you know, if I find myself scouring second handbook shops on the weekend for copies of those books I'm totally blaming you. *nods* ;D

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I will accept that blame.

[identity profile] heatherosa.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
You don't even need to scour anywhere to get them. I guarantee you can buy like a lot of 20 for 99cents (that's total for all 20 of them) on eBay. I had a TON of Babysitter's Club books and was going to try selling them on eBay myself, but when I saw how hard they are to move and how I'd pretty much be giving them away if I went that route, I ended up donating them.

[identity profile] katysam.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the info. I may have looked on eBay not long after I read Smidgy's post. *facepalm*

Seeing that there are so many of them on eBay makes me really want to re-read one just to see why people aren't buying them. I don't remember them being that bad or bad at all. *shrugs*

[identity profile] bitterbird.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
oh babysitters club was awesome!
guess I should try that :)

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
They're really good

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I haven't thought of those books in so long! I used to love them. I think it'd be funny to go back and read them now because I just remember they were kinda repetitive. The second chapter always explained who everyone was, as I recall.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that it did. Kristy sitting on her director's chair. Claudia going for her candy stash. Etc. Etc.

[identity profile] twofourteen.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I love grilled pb&j. That addition sounds so tasty!

…best visual ever. Jared probably bought it for him as a joke but Jensen is like *dreamy eyes* I LUFF IT.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It was really good. I want more.

Hahaha. That's just how it happened.

[identity profile] meltingconfetti.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I actually have pb&j in my house. Mayhaps I'll grill me up some sammich before my main course. I've never tried it grilled before. It sounds interesting. :)

Hee! 'Jensen's Dude Ranch' (Did you ever watch the show 'Hey Dude' on Nickelodeon?? Because the theme song is now stuck in my head.)

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
It's really good grilled. Mmmhmm.

I haven't seen that show.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Haha. Okay. If I had know that that existed it probably would've been in my head too.

[identity profile] meltingconfetti.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
I hear the words 'dude' and 'ranch' and that's where my mind goes!

[identity profile] aeroport_art.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
YOUR SANDWICH SOUNDS DELICIOUS. grilled Cinnamon and butter!!! *drools*

Is the peanut butter salmonella scare still going on? D:

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
It was very very good.

Huh. I'm not sure. I don't think the scare was up here ...?

[identity profile] agt-league.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, I read the Babysitter's Club books! Hahahaha, how awesome. :D

Lol, Jensen's Dude Ranch - I can totally see that happening.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
They were quite entertaining.

Right?! It's very plausible. :p

[identity profile] slytherinblack.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, I didn't know that about BSC but I love toasted PBJ. I started eating them in Japan cause you can find sealed sandwiches where the insides don't drip everywhere. Admittedly I still wouldn't have thought of it myself but toasting was one of their serving suggestions.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
They're so freaking good. And the added cinnamon and sugar was really good.

[identity profile] goodnight.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
The more I think about Jensen's bed, the harder I laugh.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hahah. It's an awesome bed.

[identity profile] bubl.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know they had those in the books. My step-dad makes those, and everybody I've ever told about them just says they sound weird. Soo good though.

Heehee. I'm trying not to decide if Jared bought it for him or if Jared snickered when he first saw it.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
They are so good.

I think maybe Jared bought it for him

[identity profile] heatherosa.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
I had never tried PB&J grilled until I was an assistant and that's what the teacher decided to do for cooking once. It's made of awesome, I will admit. Never even thought to try it with cinnamon and sugar, but it sounds SO good. I used to always eat sugar and cinnamon toast when I was a kid.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It was so damn good, you should have one today.

Oh, man... I'm completely late to this post because I'm just now gettting caught up on my flist, but...

I just had to say that it's 3:30 in the morning and I'm so damn hungry now! I have never tried grilled peanut butter and jam sandwiches. But they sound DELICIOUS. So I think I definitely need to make me one of those in the morning. :)

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You really should.
