... New Year!

[insert lame noise maker sound]

it's a couple of days before the first that I'm typing this. and for at least a week, probably longer I've already been thinking on all the new year's resolutions that I want to try again and will most likely break again. you know. your basic: eat better, lose weight, be kind, stop murdering so many people, etc.

also, read a fucking book. jesus. some people (much better than I people) set goals of like 50 books or more a year and a few years ago, I could probably do that but now, it's... okay, I could read a book OR I could read this fanfic that I've already read three times.

and I'd like to take to take more pictures for instagram but like, I rarely leave the house (other than to work and do errand runs) and when I do, I feel like a knob (nob?) getting out my phone to take a picture. so. I'm thinking maybe #365days #cat and just take a random picture of the cat in the house.

I'm sure there are other resolutions and such. but can I remember them? nah.

12 books is a great goal, I think I'm going to aim for 10. 150 is just insane. Or, well. I guess it depends on how much free time your friend has and how long the books are.

Like, I know I read... pretty much nothing last year but 7 as the average seems a bit low, doesn't it?

I've actually thought about it, but my commute to work is not interesting. In the morning, it's still dark and then coming home it's just walking next to traffic.

:) thank you. but just to clarify, not my cat. just the cat that I share a house with.

i don't know the lengths of the books she's ready but i know she has a decent commute on public transport every day, so that gives her plenty of reading time. whereas i live a five minute drive from work and once i get home i get distracted by all the other things i need to do around the house.

well, if a whole lot of people are reading none at all, even if there are people who are reading 100+ books a year then statistically it would bring down the average by a lot.

have you thought about doing those instagram photo challenges? lasts for a month and each day is a type of photo that you have to take? a friend used it to get into the hang of using instagram when she first joined and now she posts like 4 times a day.

that makes it sound like the cat is also renting the place. which i quite like the idea of. (plus, cats do sort of end up owning a place anyway).
