keyboard help and icons

I hit a key or a combination and now I have É instead of a question mark.

How do I get the question mark back.

Please help.

I know pressing SHIFT+CTRL makes my keyboard switch back and forth between language settings on said keyboard. :)

I hate these stupid French keyboards. I always just google it because I seriously can't remember. But yeah, SHIFT+CTRL should set it back. Or go into Control Panel and fix it that way.

Another way of switching it back and forth is to click on the little keyboard symbol down in your task bar. That's how I change it anyways. But maybe that's Vista-dependent.
