google chrome

Firefox is still pissing me off. A lot. When I look ... wherever it is that I look it says that I have 3.6 downloaded and am, you know, currently using that version but when I go to places like youtube and twitter they're all, 'Uh, upgrade your browser .. bitch.'

I dunno what the fuck is going on.

So. I downloaded Google Chrome. Not sure how I feel about it just yet but I guess it's all right.

Is anyone else using it? Tell me what you think. What extensions/add ons do you you use? Is there a twitter one that is similar to echofon?

I switched from Firefox to Chrome a few weeks ago and I'm loving the damn thing. I don't have a lot of extensions installed at the moment though. Just adblock and one for my Delicious bookmarks. No idea if there's a Twitter extension out yet, but I don't think so.

This is good news.

I don't have a scroll bar at the bottom and I find that ... odd. I like the scroll bar. Is there a place I can get one?

No, sorry. No idea where you could get something like that. But I think I found an extension for Twitter. this one, haven't tried it yet though.

I actually just found chrome bird - I think I like it. *is really undecided about things*

I for one absolutely love Chrome. I'd never switch back to Firefox. Ever.

What if Danneel Harris offered you 500 thousand dollars and the chance to touch her boob? :p

[identity profile] crystalchain.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, in that case I would consider it :p

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha. For a whole minute or two you could touch the boob and it'd be 500 thousand in cash.

Can I make out with her? Then I'd do it.

Ah hell, who am I kidding. I'd do it even without the making out.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I dunno 'bout making out but perhaps a little kiss.

Heee. Good good.

I switched from IE to Chrome like...a year ago maybe, and I have such a hardon for it.

Except that it makes formatting entries for LJ even harder than it was before. And some things you can't see or access with Chrome that you could with IE or FF.

So I only keep IE for updating when I need a cut, but other than that, Google Chrome <3

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
I use semagic for lj so I'm all right there but what sort of things can't you see or access?

I do have IE for hard times and I'm keep FF because I still love it but I think maybe I'll stick with this Chrome bb for awhile. Maybe.

Sometimes I have to wait or refresh the page to see if embedded content shows up (like Youtube for example, but other places) and there'll usually be a blank space if it doesn't work.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
ahh okay

I'm having the same issue, except I'm too stubborn to switch browsers because all the extensions I have on FF would become moot and I use them every day.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I just had a moment of 'Oh, God. Chrome doesn't have a 'rip this video from this site' extension but then I remembered that I could open up FF if I really need to. Or maybe Chrome does have that extension I just haven't seen it yet.

I've used Google Chrome for a while now and I like it. I don't know anything about add ons and such. I know you can't add a Farmville Game Bar to it which makes me sad;)

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't play (is that the correct word to use?) Farmville but it seems quite a few people enjoy it/are addicted.

[identity profile] solookup.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I looooove Google Chrome. FF is so chunky compared to it. I use ChromedBird for twitter extension. I also have AdBlock and that's it. Too many add-ons = clunky browser.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
I've got chrome bird going now - gettin' used to it but I like it so far.

I've used Chromed for a bit and it was alright, only my firewall kept telling me that Chromed had changed even though I'd told it not to self-update and I hadn't updated it manually, and it would try to connect to sites even though no tabs to that site were open. Also, I once started it and my computer went hoshit! and crashed so hard it gave me a blue screen. Which I don't think happened since.. Windows 98 or so. So I uninstalled it.

Firefox can be a right bitch sometimes but there are so many extension I use that I don't think I could do without, I don't think I'm switching anytime soon.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, crap. That doesn't sound good. Here's to hoping that sorta thing doesn't happen over on my end. I'd like a browser that doesn't give me paaaaaaaaain. Or annoy me.

I quite like Google Chrome. I used it for a few years before I switched over to Opera (mostly because it has a shiny bookmarks search feature). The only real issue I ever had with Chrome is that sometimes the sound stops working for the browser, but they might have figured out that kink since I last upgraded it.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Good to hear. :)

[identity profile] muses-circle.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
OPERA ALL THE WAY.

*coughs*

I tried Chrome and hated it. Opera is much more user-friendly for me.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I'll just download all the browsers. :)
