Supernatural : The Song Remains the Same

What is done cannot be undone

I think I liked it. But I think I would've liked it a lot better if it had been closer to the beginning of the season. I just don't really understand the point of going back - they already did that like the "THEN" showed and as Castiel said, "All roads lead to the same destination." so, uhm. Why'd they do it? After Dean was all, 'We gots to go back, yo.' Why didn't Castiel say something like, 'Hey, Deano. Remember when I sent you back in time before because I was bored and how you didn't actually do anything except get frustrated? Good times I mean for me but uh ... the same thing would happen this time around even if Sam were with us.'

That said.

My favourite part was Sam's face when him and Dean were at the door and he was seeing his Mommy and Daddy. Jared had real good face there.

My least favourite part was FakeUriel. What the fuck was with the different actor?

There were a handful of lines I really enjoyed but I can't think of any of them. Boo.

Well, I guess it was supposed to be portraying the younger version of Uriel's human vessel?

fans of Stargate: SG-1 will recall the 2-part episode 'Moebius' in which the team ends up going to Ancient Egypt for a specific device for the 'Gate and ends up trapped, some stuff happens, alternate timeline, blah blah blah, AU!team must go back in time and make sure the 'Gate and device stay on Earth for them to find in the present, more fighting, blah blah, AND APPARENTLY THE WHOLE 2-PART SEASON FINALE SHOWED US THAT PRETTY MUCH NOTHING CHANGED, BECAUSE THE ACTIONS OF THE AU!TEAM CANCELED OUT THE FAIL OF THE REAL!TEAM, SO IT WAS AN EXERCISE IN "NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, NOTHING CHANGES, ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE SAME DESTINATION."

lol I love me some SG1 if you can't tell ;)
tho there's a good chance I goofed up some of the facts about those eps since it's been a few years since I saw them... whatever, I'm over it haha

so uh... the ep was worth watching? this is vital information since I never watch when it airs anymore.

I think it isn't "can't be changed" but more like "angels won't let it be changed because of the master plan".
See, back in "In the Beginning" they just wanted to see if Dean could.. trick? Yellow eyes into going all evil-overlord-who-hasn't-read-the-list and start monologuing his plans, but know you had one angels that wanted to change things, one that wanted to 'fix' them, and one (or Heaven?) who was all like "Don't fuck with daddy's plan or I'll smite you".
So I guess... different rules and big brother makes the rules?

I agree so much. I was like ...but wasn't this already done in S4?

Jared was pretty damn amazing in this ep.

Uriel/Anna just pissed me off grrrrrrr.

Also, what Michael said about it being a bloodline? So, Mary's family were hunters, and John's family are related to Cain & Abel? Wow. Talk about your lineage.

I am enjoying your logic right now. And I find it sorta hilarious that they included the scene with Castiel explaining it to him in the recap.

[finally saw the ep]

Y'know what's one of the things I'm still kicking around in terms of the time travel funkiness? The garage. So, John's boss gets killed, right? And we know that by the time Sam is a baby John and his buddy Mike owned a garage. So, does this then mean that the authorities found the dead boss guy in his ransacked garage with a sigil on the wall and his eyes missing or did the Michael clear that up? If he left it, did it make any other hunters' spidey-senses tingle? And since the boss is dead, were John and Mike then the only mechanics around and, like, offered to buy the garage off of Boss Guy's widow or WHAT? Obsessively over-thinking minds want to know.
