Not that I want him to be dead but after Uriel said, 'There is no God.' ... Why didn't God smite him down?

Yes, this confused me too. I was waiting for the lightening strike that never came. FAIL, GOD. :|

And I noticed Castiel doesn't blink a lot either! What is up with that?!
