vlc media player

Is there somewhere on VLC Media Player that one can go and choose what types of media files VLC will play? I've looked under preferences but I cannot see it.

OT question for you, how do you get your journal to go to this screen when people coment as opposed to them being at your layout format? Idk that makes sense lol

swf I think is the extension it's not playing.

For your question, I believe it's here (http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml) and click 'yes' on Disable customized comment pages for your journal

To jump in here...

An swf file is a flash file. You should be able to just open it in your browser. Have you tried that? You shouldn't need a specific media player for it.

No, it does open in my browser and it plays fine. But I want to remove it from there and save it to my computer and just play it randomly when I want to.

I usually just save the flash video to my hard drive and then use my browser to open it. But, if you don't want to do that, I get that. I just looked in VLC (Tools << Preferences << Interface << Association Setup) and it doesn't play swf files - unless I looked over it, but I'm pretty sure I didn't. So, I googled and I found this which is a flash-only player.
