I applied to one of those elite icon communities. Didn't get in, which is kind of what I was expecting but this amused me -

[paraphrased]

Person A: Your cropping is nice, I especially like it on This Particular Icon.

Person B: Your cropping is quite crap, especially on these icons including This Particular Icon.

I'm thought about applying at times, but I always back off, lol. I like my icons, I get (some) comments on my icons, telling me they love them, so... I'm good. :D

It took a long while before I applied to any places. It's nerve wracking but I've gotten into a couple and rejected from a few and it gets easier.

*nods* Maybe I'll apply eventually, but I think I need a little more self-esteem regarding my icons (I'm not always satisfied with them) before I do.
