I applied to one of those elite icon communities. Didn't get in, which is kind of what I was expecting but this amused me -

[paraphrased]

Person A: Your cropping is nice, I especially like it on This Particular Icon.

Person B: Your cropping is quite crap, especially on these icons including This Particular Icon.

Exactly!

"Your colors are too washed out."

"The colors in your icons are a bit too bright."

"Go back and practice and feel free to try to please 2 out of 3 of us again later."

I dunno. I don't make batches of icons and I don't use other peoples icons, so I'm not sure why I get my back up about it, but it never really settles right with me. *shrug*

I apply to these places with the distant hope that I'll be accepted and yeah, it doesn't settle right with me either.
