Is anyone watching Cult? ... Someone must be watching Cult.

+ There is a television show named Cult.
+ There are scenes on the show that we (the audience) that show scenes from their Cult.
+ But also scenes of the actors just being actors.
+In show Cult has some bat shit crazy followers.

And that's about all I understand.

Okay, I mean. I get that some sketchy, weird, bad, etc., things have happened to the fans of in show Cult.

And the one guy is looking for his brother.

But.

Are the actors of in show Cult involved at all? Does Billy know what's going on?

Tell me everything, please.

I watch it! And I think you've got everything that they've revealed so far.

As far as actor Billy goes, when the missing guy's brother bumped into him, it seemed like he knew something, but then at the table read when he talked about wanting more input on his character, it seemed like he really was just an actor with no inside knowledge.

I started watching because of Supernatural!Jo and to a lesser extent, Alaric from The Vampire Diaries. I don't think it's confusing so far; they're establishing the mystery and setting up more stuff.

I'm watching. I'm not really sure what's going on. I'm not too sure I care.
...there was that bit where Billy seemed to be in the know, but then there was the bit with the girl involved in The Cult--and he didn't seem to know a damn thing. Um, I was kinda drunk by the time it came on last Friday--I kinda don't remember that much...

Also--are they mocking fandom? Are they saying we are *all* batshit crazy and prone to slavish devotion and homicide? Because you know what? I think that kind of behavior can be narrowed down to a mere fraction of fandom--even SPN and Sherlock fans.

And yeah, that. There are times when it seems like they act like they know what is going on, and that maybe they're in on it. But then. There are times when not so much.

I'm sort of hoping they don't drag things out for too long because I'd like to know wtf.

...my confusion will probably drive me to watch a few more episodes--and my enjoyment of being creeped out by Robert Knepper.
but really---i should just let it go. I've got The Following--and I actually really LIKE that show.

and if it is about fandom, it's kind of a shitty view.
