The Dark Knight Rises

It was no Avengers.

Catwoman was the best part. The. Best. Part. Should've been more of her.

Robin was all right.

Batman, Fox, Gordon and Alfred were fine. The same as they have been.

Bane? Bane was the funniest thing ever.. Oh, my God.

There was about 9 of all together in the cinema.

And there were a handful of times when Bane was talking and being oh so dramatic where I wanted to laugh really really really hard.

But alas, with so few people, I couldn't. Or well, didn't feel it'd be appropriate to be the only one laughing and snorting.

He sounded like Sean Connery doing an impression of Darth Vader or perhaps the other way around. And then sometimes it sounded like an over the top cartoon villain voice and.

I just. I thought Bane was going to be hot and sexy and scary and bad ass. Not. Hilarious.

I dunno. It was a good action movie and I laughed, I cheered, I cried some. Because well, I cry at most movies.

But I wasn't blown away by it the way I was expecting/hoping to be.

I think maybe I liked the first one the most.

After the movie, Ains and I were talking. Wondering if there was going to be a Robin spin-off trilogy.

I said there was going to be a Robin/Bane spin off but it was going to be a rom-com.

It wasn't until nowish that I was reminded that Tom and JGL were in Inception together and were quite the slashed couple.

So. *fingers crossed*

Yes! You get it! I laughed my ass off at the Seam Connery thing so much.

And John Blake! I've been DYING to at least tell someone that I've loved Robin far more than Batman himself even in the Chris o'Donnell years and I about died during the end scene because I want a spin off. I would watch that shit. Hands down. I want it.

So there you have it: I'm not a comic book girl but give me Spider-Man and Robin and I get so damn geeky I can't help it (ESP if you throw in Batgirl and Gwen Stacy)

EVERYTHING IS INCEPTION IN THE END *DRAMATIC MUSIC*

Yeah... I'm totally with you on this. I thought this movie was gonna be amazing, especially cause it's the last to the Batman movies... and it didn't feel like anything awesome nor special. I wish there was much more and then much less of the parts that dragged :x

Catwoman aka Anne did a really good job! I was a little worried cause I'm not a big fan of Anne Hathaway BUT she did amazing job at this role :) Would've loved to seen more of her, too

OMG - Bane. What to say about Bane... well the whole mask thing was horrible :x and you're total right about wanting to laugh at things he said cause he was totally like Sean Connery and Darth Vader mixed together! You're amazing :D He was over the top and just hilarious. I'm sure he wasn't supposed to be funny, but yeah - it was :)

All the other character's are definitely the same. But I guess I still wanted more... and yet there wasn't more. or less. idk.

They probably will have a Robin spinoff. Gotta keep with the superhero stuff :)

Avenger's was definitely BETTER - like WAY better <3

While I don't disagree with some of the criticisms, I feel like I'm the only comic book movie lover who preferred TDKR over The Avengers. TA had some great dialogue but it just didn't have me thinking about it much after it was over.

I still can't get over how hilarious Bane was.

I'll be very surprised if there's not a spin-off. Because how can there not be a spin off?

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Hahahah .... I didn't get that movie at all.

[identity profile] certainthings.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Part of me hopes that he meant for Bane to be at least slightly comical and over the top because, I'm almost sure that Hardy is a good or at least decent actor.

Anne is one of those actors that I don't really think about but whenever I see them in something I'm all, 'oh, yeah. I sort of like you.' and she did a fantastic job as CatWoman.

I'll be very surprised if there's not a spin off.

It was quite hilarious you just couldn't take him seriously!

And I NEED the Spin off. Almost as badly as I need the next Spider-Man flick. Yup.

I think maybe if I were a fan of Batman or at least more knowledgeable perhaps I would have enjoyed the movie more? But.

[identity profile] donna-c-punk.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
See, I don't know a whole lot about Batman, either. In fact, within the DC universe, Wonder Woman is the one I care about/know the best. And it might be part of the reason I enjoyed it more. I do have less exposure, so I wasn't nitpicking changes in character origins - like Bane or Catwoman, as I've seen some do - and enjoying what was on screen. The Avengers, while I really did like that movie, was something that faded outta my mind about a week after I first saw it. Maybe TDKR had a bit too much substance in the plot, but I'll occasionally think about something in the storyline every other day.

Inception was good, but not as great as everyone acted like it was.

ahh, well that's good. that you liked the movie that much and all. :)

I don't really think about plotty things but on occasion I'll think, 'damn, that avengers was a fine movie.'
