hello wall.
it's pretty damn pointless most of the time, isn't it?
how do you interact with people online? I mean. how do you get people to engage in conversation with you?
also, while taking a tumblr break. I'm still looking at it from time to time. casually and slowly unfollowing.
if I unfollow you and you don't like it. well, it's probably an accident. just let me know.

The internet is so much bigger now and there are so many social media forums that it is much more difficult to make real connections. There are so many cartoons and 'like' buttons and other forms of checking in that real people interaction gets a little lost.
I'm old school, I call my friends when I want to talk. *shrugs*

Mostly if I just need to talk to people such as today, it was "The Fly is gross. Damn Goldblum!" - "Fingernails" - "J, you ass does it get more gross?!" and from there yada' there was also "OMG Spider-Man DVD News, figured you'd wanna know" - "I want Andrew/Emma commentary!" - "You ship it hard I know", and so on.
Oh god that's lame! I'm giving you bad advice! Don't listen! I'm much better at sarcastic comments /hides

Partly, I think the way we interact has changed. I'm not interested in the capslock flails or codewords that a normal person outside of fandom wouldn't have a chance of understanding. I feel like the old guy who refuses to keep up with the youngsters. : )

I agree with the person above me who said they're not all that interested in capslock fail (communicating in overly-involved fandoms?) anymore; that was something I did more when I was a college student. Sometimes I really just wanna flail and shorten sentences to express how pleased i am about [fandom x] but other times, I just want to revisit old friends that I've made over the years. I don't think I've friended anyone new on LJ for like 2 years? LOL. Grateful for the people who have stuck with me, though! ♥
Hmmmm not sure if you understand my meaning in this comment. Not really sure I do. I just love LJ and all the people I've met on it. I do love fandom but I'm definitely more casual about it now. I'm not all about OMG ICONS AND FANFICS AND FANDOM CHALLENGES but I do like those once in awhile. :)
