How the heck are people capping them?

I remembered that I had an ep of Psych downloaded from there and went to try and cap it before I downloaded anything else from there and uh, both VLC and KMPlayer don't work.

So what does?

Please help this idiot!

You mean people are buying episodes off iTunes and then taking screenshots?

What is the problem you're having? Do the screenshots turn out as just black? There's an option within VLC itself to take screenshots. I think you can right-click and there's a "snapshot" option (which may be buried within menus).

Oh, it's because of DRM protection then. You can only play 'em in iTunes/QuickTime.
