Supernatural

Often times I wonder why the show had to go in the directions that it did and has. Why couldn't they have just kept doing the same thing they were doing back in S1. CSI has basically been the same since the beginning and it's been on the air for eleven god damn years. And it's still pretty frickin' awesome.

Not so long ago Langston said, "Let's go hunt some monsters."

I miss *that* on Supernatural. Sure, there are some monsters but it's not how it used to be.

Because Kripke has a lot of feelings wanted to tell a story.

I ceased to wonder at the illogical direction this series has taken. It's to the point to where I dread each episode. Last night I watched out of habit, and it was little more than background noise.

Frankly, I think the writers could have stuck with the monster format and still gone along with the story lines Kripke wanted. The angels/demons thing isn't interesting and is poorly written...and the biggest frustration for me is seeing Sam and Dean's relationship go from "dysfunctional family" to "star-crossed lovers". That's never been my cup of tea, and I don't like having to watch that every week. :\

IDK, I'm so over this show, it ain't even funny.

I recall being promised a show about folklore and urban legends in which two dudes would hunt the creatures from said lore. I also recall the promise of "no angels." And yet, we somehow ended up in the same ol' saw just like everyone else. Yes, yes. Judeo-Christian mythology. Very original. And now we're in the endless cycle of "blah blah Sam's evil blah Dean's life sucks blee."

*shrug*

The show now isn't even close to being the same as the show was in Sn1 and Sn2, and it makes me sad.

It's weird to watch season one episodes now (and even season two episodes) because the show is SO DIFFERENT than it used to be. Sam's hair is different, Dean's voice is Batman and there are angels and vessels and whateverthefuckelse.

I miss when it was just monsters and them searching for their dad and the thing that killed Mary. Those were simpler times!

It's because the creator has a massive ego (which you can infer from him basically making himself God in S5) and wants to show off like he's some genius with a brilliant mythology like Whedon or Abrams, except for the part where he's nowhere near as smart as he thinks he is.

"Remember when we used to just hunt Wendigos?"
:/

I think this every god damn time I watch the show or think on it. I'm even starting to replace all my spn icons. :/
