Supernatural : 6x02 : Two and a Half Men
Everyday when you're walking down the street
And everybody that you meet
Has an original point of view
And I say HEY! (HEY!)
What a wonderful kind of day.
If you can learn to work and play
And get along with each other
You got to listen to your heart
Listen to the beat
Listen to the rhythm
The rhythm of the street
Open up your eyes
Open up your ears
Get together and make things better
By working together!
It's a simple message and it comes from the heart
Believe in this (And in yourself)
For that's the place to start (to start)
And I say HEY! (HEY!)
What a wonderful kind of day
If we can learn to work and play
And get along with each other.

And so, right now that's all I have to say about all the wank and such.
Right, so the actual ep.
Meh. I liked it.
I loved loved looooooooooved them in the store. Because it was a different setting for them. And it was lit. I really enjoy seeing them when it's not all dark.
And I know that Dean holding the baby away from him like he (BobbyJohn) was a bomb was done for comedic purposes but it didn't really make much sense to me. Not because of when Sam and Dean were wee ones (though, perhaps a little) but because ... it's a baby! Who doesn't know that babies enjoy being held? Hell, who doesn't know that any crying/upset human likes to be comforted? Seriously! Aaaaand because Dean did mention that Lisa had a baby niece, yes and that's how he knew all about "babby things" ... but he never held it or anything? Bah!
Corin Nemec still continues to be Corin Nemec therefore I love him, even if his character is slightly douchey and potentially evil.
I liked that Lisa set him free but I'm not sure I like the whole, 'Hey, come back when you can.' part. Someone, maybe more than one someone mentioned that it wasn't much different than those with a parent who travelled a lot for a living and perhaps that's a little bit true. But then most of those people probably aren't fighting evil ('cept for all the spies, snipers and trained assassin folk - I guess they could find themselves in a spot of trouble now and then).
And also because I won't be upset if we never see Lisa and Ben again. I don't care for romantic interest girls on the show. Jared once said and this is slightly paraphrased, 'It's not going to be Sam and Dean in the Impala and a girl in the back seat.' They should stick with that. However, if we do see them again down the road I hope they're still normal folk and not all decked out in leather, wielding weapons and all, 'Yo, Dean. We be huntin'.'
And then there's the part where I don't feel any love between Dean and Lisa. I feel obligation, some friendship and a hint of arranged marriage.
I was amused that when Grandpappy Campbell was a Shifter that he was (imo) acting slightly 'sexy' and I enjoy that when actors are 'evil' they seem to act 'sexy'.
OH! I've seen a few mentions of how The Campbells could very well be doing something like The Initiative on Buffy. Oh, Dear Lord and Sweet Moses! I extremely really hope that doesn't happen. Or anything close to that doesn't happen. I didn't like it when it happened on Buffy and I certainly won't like it on Show.
And I think that about sums it up ... for now.

Totally missed an opportunity for Dean to point out that he used to take care of Baby!Sam. *deducts point from otherwise fine ep*
I agree, Dean's always been in love with the "idea" of Lisa and Ben, not her specifically, but genuinely cares about and for her and Ben. Someone else mentioned it's a lot like Army wives, where a spouse is gone for weeks/months at a time. And while I think Lisa loves Dean, and appreciates what kind of good guy he has been to her and Ben, she's not *in love* either. I liked how they teased each other, too. "Bet your ex is lookin' pretty good now..." Ha!

Huh, I totally missed the part where they were teasing each other, sounds like it was a good part.

Grandpappy is disturbingly sexy when he's evil-ish. He was on Sons of Anarchy, making meth and wearing a wifebeater and it was oddly hot.

Agreed.
I liked that Lisa set him free but I'm not sure I like the whole, 'Hey, come back when you can.' part.
Like a lapdog, she is.
About Dean and the baby and holding him away from him, IDK. I can't say that Dean took care of Sam as a baby, because A. Dean wouldn't really have clear memories about that time, and B. I just don't see John leaving a 5 year old in charge. I don't. And I don't even like John Winchester, lol. But even if he had, that's 25 years ago for Dean.
Or maybe he was worried about a shitty diaper.
I'm loving Christian. I hope he's the most evil motherfucker to ever walk Winchester land. Conversely, I kinda hope he's a saint and that he saves everyone. Or something.

Lol, that's retarded.

UGH, THE INITIATIVE. Horrible. I just think that zombie!Grandpa is evil and the rest of them probably are, too, or don't know.

I kind of hope that they're evil because if they're not they're too ... I dunno a combination of boring and shady.

Hahahaha. I do too.

Yeah, this might sum it up nicely. Perhaps he's the most evil now but in the end he'll end up saving everyone anyway. Perhaps something more sinister comes along.

I hope Corin Nemec gets to do something fun soon, instead of just sit around and be a nuisance. Though his bit about torturing was nice.

When Lisa told Dean to leave, I liked her. When she said he could come and go as he pleased, I lost all respect.
Like you said, I don't feel any love between them. We have seen Dean happy maybe twice in these two episodes. When he saw Sam and when he uncovered the Impala!!
