As proud as I am of the country as a whole, I have to say that I'm incredibly disappointed in my state for voting yes on proposition 8. I was hoping that common sense and human decency would prevail over the scare tactics and outright lies that were being spread for that horrible campaign, but apparently not. So sad.

The truly sad thing is that there was another Proposition that was for treatment of animals that came out in favor of the animals by a HUGE percentage. To clarify, I did vote yes for that prop, since I feel that animal rights ARE important, but it makes me sad that more people in this state voted only for animal rights and not for HUMAN rights as well.
